Meet Our Owner
Owner & Licensed General Contractor
While growing up in New Hampshire, I developed an enthusiasm for the outdoors – rock and ice climbing, mountain biking, backcountry skiing, and snowboarding. I have led groups on mountain climbs around the world in places such as the Andes in South America, volcanoes in Ecuador, the Western U.S., and the United Kingdom. I’ve also completed an expedition on the Patagonian ice cap and cycled 1600 miles in the U.K. These experiences led me to appreciate the importance of integrating home designs with the natural contours of the land, ensuring a minimal level of intrusiveness and environmental impact in each project.
I first became captivated by the form and complexity of timber frame construction in Western North Carolina over 18 years ago. I spent 4 years following my passion by exploring and understanding the art and craft of old-world timber frame techniques and hand-built timber frame homes.
Before opening the doors to Timberframe Horizons, I spent 11 years as the chief designer and project manager for a prominent timber frame company. Today, my team crafts buildings using traditional wood joinery and employs modern green building technology. The natural beauty and strength of sustainably-sourced wood are incorporated throughout each design.
